TODDLERS VS. THE EASTER BUNNY
In this corner is a six-foot tall, freaky rabbit who can talk and walk on two legs. In the other corner are about 50 three-foot tall toddlers, who can't talk (much) and for most walking on two legs is a recent development. I don't know who thought up the concept of the Easter Bunny, but I'm guessing it wasn't the parent of a toddler.
We took Noah to his first Easter egg hunt at a park in Sherwood. Noah's good friends Linnea, Claire and her brand new brother Sawyer, Aiden, Alexis and Sienna were all there along with tons of other kids.

The hunt was broken into age groups which I'm really glad about because if all the kids ran at once, emergency rooms would have overflowed. The way it was supposed to work was for the Easter Bunny to go around to each of the age group areas and yell "GO!" When he got to our group you could hear shrieks and watch kids beg to be picked up by any adult who happened to be standing next to them. Noah was no exception.
We led him around picking up plastic eggs and pinwheels. It was hard to get any good pictures because there were just too many people and dogs running everywhere. Here are the best ones I got:

All in all it was fun for the adults, but the kiddos are probably permanently damaged. It was great to see our friends and make plans for future get-togethers. My girlfriends rock and I don't know what I'd do without them.
Noah is sacked out and I'm going to take advantage of that and crash myself. I'm hoping that Noah doesn't dream about a giant rabbit tonight.

After dealing so well with the Easter Bunny, I am sure Noah would have a great time at Disneyland
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought if the goal was early anxiety and therapy, that would do the trick. =)
