Noah and I went to the zoo to check out the grand opening of a new exhibit called Predators of the Serengeti. I was amazed at how close we were able to get to real lions, cheetahs, hunting dogs, and a few other animals. All of the enclosures have giant windows that the animals can walk right up to. I could have sat for hours, but Noah was all about keeping moving. It was a prefect fall day and the trees were just starting to show their colors. While we were at the zoo, we got lunch. Well, I had lunch, Noah had sauce. He is all about sauces. You name it; ketchup, ranch, salad dressing, sour cream, guacamole, whatever, he wants his own bowls of it and just eats it off the spoon. Silly kiddo. Here are some pictures from our day at the zoo. By the way, the pictures of the animals were not taken with a zoom. They really were that close. Amazing!!

** Sorry, I know these posts are out of order. I haven't found a way to change the order on the editing tool - if any of you know how, let me know! Also, if anyone has any tips for wrapping text or moving pictures, I could totally use them!**

One of our good play-group mommy friends has started her own business called Bean & Sprouts Photography. She has found the perfect way to make a living doing what she is passionate about while still being able to stay at home with her son, Will. Will was born about 6 hours after Noah at the same hospital. In fact, Kati and I were the only two women in the maternity ward that night. Where Noah was tiny (5.11lbs), Will was pretty big (9.80lbs). Since they were the only two babies in the nursery, the contrast was pretty dramatic. Kati and I get a kick out of sharing that experience.
Kati took a series of pictures of Noah. We met in the late evening at a beautiful park in Wilsonville that had an old barn and lots of fields and trees to play in. She sent me a couple "teaser" pictures to hold me over until we get the disk with about 20 to 30 images in about four weeks. Here they are:

Noah Goes to the Farm
Today we took Noah to Roloff Farms. This farm belongs to the Roloff family that some of you might know of from the TLC show called "Little People, Big World." We've watched the show for years and have always gotten a kick out of seeing familiar places since it is all filmed here. One of our good friend's son plays soccer with one of the Roloff kids. Anyway, they open up their farm every year for the big pumpkin harvest. The show was actually filming while we were there today and we were able to meet most of the cast and watch how the camera crew worked. Everyone was super friendly. Maybe you'll see us on tv! Here are some pictures of the Roloff family members and camera crew.

We took a tractor ride around the farm and saw where the Roloffs live and all of the neat stuff they have around the grounds. We got the impression that the show has been pretty profitable for them because the house is about 3 times bigger than it was at the beginning of the series, the kids all have awesome cars, a putting green that made Kris super jealous, full sand volleyball and sports courts, a castle (yes, a HUGE castle) and other awesome things that take lots of money to have were everywhere. Here are some pictures of the tour.

Noah had a blast riding around in the wagon and petting the farm animals. As most of you know, I love alpacas and fell in love with one of them in the petting zoo. I actually bought 3 cups of food for him and he ate out of my hand. If I ever win the lottery, I'm buying an alpaca farm. As for Noah, his highlight was getting his first pony ride. He was so excited that he almost danced himself off the ground while waiting to get on. He pet the pony and talked to him. The pony's name was Jerry and when we got home, Noah renamed his pony Jerry (along with all the rest of his animals). Here are some pictures and a bit of video of Noah riding.
We had a really nice fall day together. Noah and I are getting over a bad bit of flu and it felt good to be outside in the sun. I hope all of you are well!
